Grammys Address Black Representation for 2020 nominees

So many artists have responded to the Grammy Nominees in regard to being snubbed from Drake, The Weekend, Teyanna Taylor to Nicki Minaj.

Well, The Black Music Collective at the Recording Academy addressing the representation of black artists for the 2020 GRAMMY nominations stated that “black music is not a monolith” “It’s a historic year as 10 black women are nominated in the top four categories and more than 20 black nominees are represented in the general fields,” the statement reads. “Also, for the first time, all 6 nominees for Best Rap Album are black independent artists. This is progress.”
I truly understand the frustration, but this is a topic of discussion every year aroung gammy season and at point will this be considered an expectation?
